¶ Bus
Starter FriendlyYour first bus is free. Begin with a basic route and unlock better routes as your Bus level increases.
Nice, simple public transport. The passengers cannot leave a review. Enjoy that privilege.
M$NTED is a custom standalone framework and FiveM server created by PinkiPrim — usually just Prim.
It started as a passion project and somehow snowballed into an entire custom framework, economy, career system, vehicle ecosystem and an increasingly concerning number of things Prim decided would be “cool if it did this too.”
You’re not supposed to spawn in, buy a supercar, purchase half the city and retire before dinner. Start somewhere, build your way up, unlock better things and eventually become irresponsibly wealthy.
That’s much more fun.
When you first join, you’ll be greeted by the familiar illenium appearance menu, alongside additional custom clothing packs.
Once finished, you’ll spawn into a redesigned Legion Square with:
Enough to begin your life.
Not enough to immediately start browsing mansions. Calm down.
Your first objective is simple: acquire transportation.
Open the B radial menu and spawn your Blazer. Use that to make your way to the dealership instead of running across Los Santos like you’ve accidentally joined a sponsored marathon.
Once there, claim your free Cypher.
From there, you’re ready to actually earn some money.
Several careers are designed to be easy to start, including Bus, Trucking, Cargo, Train & Metro and Silk Route.
You don’t need to arrive with millions in the bank just to earn your first dollar. That would be a bit backwards.
We’ve tried to keep M$NTED’s interface clean enough that you can actually play the game instead of managing seventeen menus simultaneously.
Your main hub. Inventory, progression and plenty of M$NTED’s larger systems live here.
Wondering where the hell something is? There’s a decent chance the answer is M.
Quick actions while you’re actually out doing things.
Vehicles, useful actions and contextual features without digging through an entire menu system.
Text chat, vehicle speed, fuel, vehicle condition and your current job information.
Useful information. Minimal clutter. Revolutionary concept.
Text chat also includes a built-in emoji picker, because apparently communicating exclusively through words is no longer enough.
Individual jobs and activities display the controls you actually need. You should not require a PDF manual and a commercial driving licence to work out how to start the bus.
Making money is important.
But progression is what opens the interesting stuff.
Many M$NTED careers have their own XP and level progression. As you continue working them, you can gain access to better routes, opportunities, rewards and other features.
Visible proof that you did, in fact, spend all that time doing something.
Career rewards that can provide useful benefits elsewhere too.
Another progression rabbit hole for when regular employment no longer satisfies you.
You also aren’t locked into one job forever.
Drive buses for a while. Deliver cargo. Move cars through Silk Route. Go racing. Drive a train when your brain has had enough for the evening. Then come back to something else tomorrow.
There are several careers available, and they don’t all expect you to already own expensive equipment.
Your first bus is free. Begin with a basic route and unlock better routes as your Bus level increases.
Nice, simple public transport. The passengers cannot leave a review. Enjoy that privilege.
Taxi comes with its own company fleet, so you don’t need to buy a taxi before you can make money.
Borrow one, pick up passengers and start earning. For once, using somebody else’s car for profit is completely legitimate.
Think Euro Truck Simulator. Start with company trucks and trailers, then work towards owning your own equipment.
The major difference is that Euro Truck Simulator drivers occasionally understand lane discipline. Los Santos drivers do not. Good luck.
Cargo is currently all about ships.
Start the job, head to the docks, get yourself assigned a vessel and start moving cargo across the water.
Simple in theory. Then you remember boats take roughly seventeen years to turn around when you realise you’ve pointed yourself the wrong way.
Cargo Pilot is planned for later. For now, the skies are safe from you.
A fantastic start when you fancy earning money without requiring your entire brain.
Drive forward. Stop at stations. Drive forward again. Repeat until you decide you’ve transported enough of Los Santos for one evening.
Missing the platform by half a postcode is generally considered poor technique.
Racing is more involved and is primarily here because cars going fast is fun.
Improve your Racing progression and finally find out whether the car you spent an irresponsible amount of money modifying is actually any good.
Or discover that the barrier at corner three remains undefeated.
M$NTED’s randomised vehicle delivery system.
Collect and deliver different vehicles while earning Business and Racing XP.
Sometimes you’ll get something lovely. Sometimes you’ll get something you wouldn’t voluntarily be seen driving.
The Silk Route does not care about your dignity.
One important thing before you start stealing everything with four wheels:
NPC vehicles cannot be turned into owned vehicles.
If you want a permanent vehicle, buy one.
Your first one is easy: the dealership gives you the Cypher for free.
After that, owned vehicles can be accessed through the blue garages around the map.
If one of your vehicles is already outside, your garage will show it as Out. You cannot summon another copy because you’ve forgotten where you parked.
Store it, remove it using zDelete from the B radial, or destroy it and it’ll become available from the garage again.
The overwhelming majority of M$NTED’s usable land vehicles have also received handling work to make them behave closer to their real-world counterparts.
Garages also let you organise, rename and favourite vehicles.
Some jobs use temporary vehicles instead. Silk Route is one example — if you abandon its vehicle, it disappears.
No, you cannot keep it.
We knew you were going to try.
The full system has its own Vehicles page →, because otherwise this section is going to become an owner’s manual.
The normal M$NTED world is deliberately relaxed when it comes to player-versus-player damage.
Another player generally cannot directly damage you with weapons, fire or explosions.
You can therefore walk down the street without constantly wondering whether somebody on a rooftop has made you today’s entertainment.
Vehicle interactions are still possible, though.
If somebody has discovered that repeatedly ramming you is apparently the highlight of their evening, use:
/passivePassive mode is there for when you simply cannot be arsed.
Turn it on and get on with your day.
If the normal world sounds a little too peaceful:
PvP World exists.
This is the part where everybody has willingly agreed that violence is now on the itinerary.
Legion Square is the safe zone, with access to:
Banking • Storage • Shop
Get yourself sorted before leaving.
The full mechanics are on the PvP World page →
Yes.
There are drugs.
Quite elaborate ones, actually.
Weed has a full production process involving growing, caring for, drying, packaging and eventually selling your product.
It turns out horticulture becomes considerably more interesting once somebody starts paying you for it.
Cocaine goes considerably further, with an extended acquisition and production chain.
Later stages require access to your own home for the required crafting.
So before becoming Los Santos’ answer to an international cartel, you may first need to speak to an estate agent.
Responsible adulthood comes at you quickly.
Extra inventory capacity, vehicle/customisation benefits, premium vehicle features, exclusive title styling and other quality-of-life extras.
It improves what you already have rather than replacing normal progression.
Wearable evidence of what you’ve been doing with your life.
Career milestones and achievements unlock titles you can display alongside your name.
Some are respectable. Some are significantly less respectable.
Career progression can unlock useful benefits that extend beyond the job that earned them.
Because “number went up, lovely” can only remain exciting for so long.
Owning a business is not:
Unfortunately, capitalism requires slightly more effort.
Businesses have their own progression, while the store itself can also develop as you operate it.
Stock is physical. Supplies actually need to come from somewhere.
Which means somebody has to go out, acquire the goods and bring them back.
If your shelves are empty, positive thinking will not restock them.
As the business develops, there’s more to work towards and more opportunity to turn it into something worthwhile.
The dedicated Businesses page → covers ownership, stock, progression and everything else involved.
Because this is Getting Started. You do not need an MBA yet.
Still lost? That’s fine.
There are several places designed specifically for the moment where you’ve clicked everything twice and started blaming the server.
You do not need to understand every system before you start playing.
Grab your Blazer. Get your free Cypher. Pick something that looks fun. Make some money. Probably crash something.
And work the rest out as you go.
Try not to bankrupt yourself on your first day.
